It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Lee Thayer (Houston, Texas), born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, who passed away on April 1, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John Andrus and Alice Andrus; her husband Charles Thayer; her brother Morrell; and her daughter Donna Rumley.

She is survived by : her grandson Christopher Rumley (Jacquie); her great grandchildren, Victoria, Gabriella and Anthony "Peanut"; and her siblings, Faye Scarbrough and Gay Andrus. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews that called her "Nanny", and all her other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 8th 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the San Jacinto Funeral Home (14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 8th 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 8th 2022 at 1:00 PM at the San Jacinto Memorial Park (14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015).
