He was predeceased by : his parents, Leon Mather Payne, Sr. and Carolyn Wilson Payne; and his daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Payne. He is survived by : his caregivers, Alma Zavala, Sharonda Dawson, Pat Taylor and Associates; his wife Julie; his children, William (Rebecca) and Mary Katharine; his sister Mimi Payne Prioleau; his sibling-in-law Charlie; his niece Carolyn; and his nephew Wilson Prioleau.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 5th 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Church of St. John the Divine (2450 River Oaks Blvd, Houston, TX 77019).
