An internet company that helps people find suitable schools, companies and neighborhoods has listed a Houston suburb as the best city in the U.S. to live in.
For the second year in a row, The Woodlands took the top spot per Niche.com's rankings, Houston CBS affiliate KHOU reported.
According to Niche, rankings are determined by such things as affordability, the local housing market and public schools using federal government data and resident reviews.
The Woodlands is 30 miles north of Houston in Montgomery County and has a population of nearly 115,000 people as of 2019.
"Living in The Woodlands offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes," according to the township's profile on Niche.com. "In The Woodlands there are a lot of restaurants and parks."
The Woodlands; however, isn't the best city to live in when it comes to the Houston area. That honor goes to Cinco Ranch.
KHOU reported that Niche placed The Woodlands second ahead of Sugar Land.
The Woodlands earned second-place among the best places to purchase a home and sixth in public education, according to the website.
The Woodlands and Plano in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex are the only Texas cities in Niche's top 10, KHOU reported.
Plano, which is 20 miles north of Dallas, ranked ninth.
