'It is a natural extension of our services': Realty Trust Group opens Houston office

Knoxville, Tennessee-based health care real estate advisory and services firm Realty Trust Group (RTG) has opened an office in Houston.

The move is part of the company's plans to expand in Texas, according to an RTG issued press release.

RTG hopes that the expansion will set up Texas as a regional hub for the southwestern U.S. for its operations.

"Our expansion into Texas reinforces our commitment to serving market-leading health care organizations in key regions across the country," RTG president Greg Gheen said in the release. 

Gheen noted that Houston, the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest city in the U.S., is home to the Texas Medical Center, which is the largest medical complex in the world.

"In Houston, you will find some of the largest concentrations of health care in the country where leading health systems, universities, physicians and research organizations work collaboratively," he said in the release. "As real estate advisors working exclusively with health care providers, it is a natural extension of our services and will represent our seventh regional office location."

The release said that RTG Vice President Craig Flanagan has been tabbed to oversee operations at the Houston office. 

He'll be assisted by Kevin Baker and Colton Hager in provided RTG's services.

"While we have previously served clients in Texas, our new office will allow us to better serve the entire state and across the southwest region," Flanagan said in the release. "Our unique advisory-first approach is focused on helping hospitals and physician groups identify opportunities to align real estate with their larger strategic initiatives through our broad platform of services. In turn, our clients are able to realize cost savings and improve market position."

Established in 1998, RTG assists hospitals, physician groups and property owners in navigating the health care real estate market.
