Charles Daniel Lewis Jr. "Danny", age 74, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2022. He was born at Mitchell Field Air Force Base in Long Island, New York on December 3, 1947. Danny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Kathryn Lewis "Kathy", son Charles Daniel Lewis III "C.D"., (Julie) of Bryan Tx; daughter Kristina Lyn "Kristy" Reach, (Dustin) of Riverview FL. and grandson James Daniel Reach. Sisters Cathie deLeon (Bruce) and Nan Lewis Watkins. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long-time friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Col. Charles D. Lewis and mother Novella Winkles Lewis. He loved to read, fish and share memories of his travels and time spent with family. He enjoyed meeting and talking to new friends. Never met a stranger. His favorite time of the year was fall, when college football was playing on tv (Roll Tide Roll).
He attended numerous schools due to his dad serving in the Air Force. Loved traveling, especially the time his family spent on Guam when he was a teenager. He graduated high school and attended college at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico. He was a member of the Crossed Sabers Society and loved visiting the Institute.
He had a long career in banking, working with computers. He eventually retired from BP in November 2011. He was an active member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving on the Cutting Horse committee for over 30 years.
A celebration of his life will be held on March 19th at the Townewest clubhouse from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
