On Jan. 18, Frontier Airlines revealed that they will begin service at the Hobby Airport in May. The airline will serve an expansive array of locations throughout the United States and Mexico.

According to Frontier's Alfredo Gonzalez, the Denver-based airline will possess routes connecting Hobby and Cancun, Mexico, Las Vegas, Nevada and Orlando, Florida. The routes are non-stop, according to a report from KHOU 11.

“We’re excited to expand in Houston and add William P. Hobby Airport to our route map with three nonstop routes beginning this May," Josh Flyr, the vice president of network and operational design for Frontier Airlines, said. "Frontier takes low fares to heart – it’s the core of our business – and today’s announcement of new flights to Cancun, Las Vegas and Orlando furthers our mission to make flying more accessible and affordable for everyone. We look forward to launching service at HOU and bringing increased air service competition to the market."

The first flight will leave on May 26 going from Hobby to Cancun. The following day, service to Las Vegas and Orlando will begin. Frontier will then begin flying to Cancun three times a week and four times to Las Vegas and Orlando. This is not the only time Frontier has worked out of Houston.

Frontier Airlines has served George Bush Intercontinental Airport for greater than two decades with flights to locations such as Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando and Philadelphia. For these flights, the international rate to Cancun will be $79, flights to Las Vegas will be $59 and the flights to Orlando will be priced $39 to start, according to a report from click2houston.

Frontier Airlines has future plans to expand their operations further out of Hobby Airport, according to a report from KHOU 11. Hobby Airport was named as the only five star airport in North America, making it an attractive location for airlines.
