If you’ve always wanted to try one of Galveston’s restaurants that you’ve not yet visited, now might be a good time to do it.

The 11th Annual Galveston Restaurant Week started this week and actually runs for four weeks this year, with the last day being Feb. 13.

Besides the extended time frame, participating restaurants will be setting aside donations of $1-$5 per menu item. That money will be distributed to local charities, according to a FOX26 report. About 40 restaurants are taking part in this year’s event.

Check out visitgalveston, com for a list. Specials range from Gulf Coast seafood selections to local specialities.

Restaurant week is designed to give diners a chance to try items that are available at “attractive price points” that are noted online.

Tourists and locals can take advantage of the specials. This year's price range is $20-$45 for two- or three-course dinners, and $10-$20 for breakfasts, lunches or brunches.
