Bowman Consulting Group Ltd., a multi-disciplinary consulting firm based in Houston, has recently agreed to acquire Terra Associates, Inc., according to a press release.
The acquisition, which is subject to normal closing conditions, is scheduled to conclude on Dec. 31.
“Choosing to join Bowman was an easy decision,” Vickie Henkel, CEO of Terra, stated in the press release. “Bowman’s approach to growth is very exciting to all of us at Terra."
Terra currently offers civil engineering and design services to clients in the areas of traffic and transportation planning, water-wastewater solutions, landscaping and irrigation systems, office and industrial complexes and multi-family development.
"We’ve gotten to know the leadership at Bowman over the course of the acquisition process and we all feel very comfortable with the decision," Henkel continued.
Currently, Terra has approximately 30 employees across two locations in Houston and San Francisco, serving both public and private sector clientele.
Terra also serves as district engineer for various Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) in Texas as part of their water-wastewater operation.

Bowman is a Reston, Virginia-based engineering services company that specializes in developing infrastructure solutions for clients that own, construct and maintain the built environment.
Bowman provides a wide variety of technical solutions to clients in a number of regulated end markets.
Currently, the firm employs 950 people and has more than 35 locations around the United States.
Bowman launched its $51.7 million first public offering on May 11, 2021 and started trading on the Nasdaq under the stock code BWMN.
