V. Wayne Moreland 86, of Missouri City, Texas passed away on November 17, 2021.

Wayne Moreland was born in New Era, Louisiana to Claude and Eva Moreland on September 8th, 1935. He went to high school in Ferriday, Louisiana and college at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He married Rosalind Cecile Daniel on August 8, 1958 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For 25 years he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for NASA contractors in the Space program and later in the Oil and Gas industry for the remainder of his career. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his work on the Apollo 13 mission team while in the space program.

Wayne Moreland is survived by his wife Rosalind Daniel Moreland, his brother Kent Howell Moreland, his two sisters Lynda Moreland Calhoun and Beverly Moreland Tiffee, his two sons Lance Wayne Moreland wife Colleen Taylor Moreland and Brent Howell Moreland and wife Karen Ann Moreland his daughter Brenda Moreland Ramone and husband Henry Ramon Entenza, eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on November 23, 2021 from 12 noon until 2PM. The funeral services will continue at 2 PM Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. Burial will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Ramone, Maxwell Moreland, Byron Kaiser, Andrew Stone, Mike Kelley and Hunter Moreland
