An Austin suburb will be the location of a Texas company's first build-to-rent (BTR) community in the central part of the state, according to a recent news release.

Georgetown has other things going for it besides how close it is to Austin, Wan Bridge CEO and Co-Founder Ting Qiao said in a company news release issued Tuesday, Nov. 9.

"We selected Georgetown as our next development destination not only for the proximity to Austin, but also as a desirable location itself, offering a great place for business and growing families to live, work and play," Ting said. "Bringing a BTR community to Georgetown is the next step in our journey to transform residential living across the state by offering another high-quality option for Texas residents."

Georgetown Heights is expected to feature 50 three and four-bedroom, two-story duplexes ranging from 1,400-2,100 square feet, all designed and constructed in modern, high-end styles with functional layouts and practical features. For instance, each home's primary bedroom and additional bedrooms can be repurposed as offices and hobby rooms, guest accommodations and any number of uses.

Each Georgetown Heights home will be built along feature open-concept floor plans with spacious bedrooms and contemporary designs for form and function.

Georgetown is "growing, safe and friendly submarket of the Austin area" located near a wide selection of restaurants, parks and recreation, with healthcare facilities, as well as grocery stores, and several national retailers a short drive away, the news release said.

"Families with children living in the community have access to the exemplary public schools of the Georgetown Independent School District," the news release said.

The new BTR community will be on Northwood Drive in Georgetown.

Wan Bridge, with offices in Houston, Bellaire and Dallas, has plans beyond Georgetown, all part of a multi-billion expansion forecast that includes breaking ground on 20 to 30 new BTR communities over the next year or so. Those communities are located in suburban Houston, Dallas and Austin.

The company can build 30,000 homes in 50 Texas markets over the next half decade, according to its news release.
