Houston Sales Tax Update

Sales and use tax collections for the 12 most populous Houston-area cities totaled $1.1 billion in the 12 months ending August ’21, up 9.0 percent from $969.2 million for the same period a year ago. This rise in collections is the largest 12-month increase since September ’18.
