Lamar CISD kindergarten teacher faces charge of child indecency

A kindergarten teacher at Tamarron Elementary School has been detained and charged with a count of indecency with a child, which is classified as a felony. 

Troi Phillip Moore is a 45-year-old kindergarten teacher that is alleged to have had an inappropriate interaction with an elementary student. 

In a press release, Lamar Consolidated Independent School District said, “To learn that a teacher, entrusted with the safety and well-being of children, may have been involved in any sort of inappropriate conduct is very troubling. Lamar CISD condemns any actions by an adult which endangers the mental or physical health of a child.”

The district learned of the conduct on Oct. 11 and Moore was suspended the same day. Lamar CISD police opened an investigation on the same day, as well. 

According to Moore's LinkedIn profile, he joined the school district in August of last year. For the past 14 years, he has taught at several Fort Bend ISD elementary schools. The reaction of the parents of children at the school district has been stress and anxiety, understandably so.
