A local investment firm recently announced that their company will have an office in Houston.

Iapetus Holdings LLC owns Soaring Eagle Technologies, which has decided to place its headquarters in the city.

The data collection company for unmanned aerial systems was founded earlier this year with the merger of Soaring Eagle Imaging and Skynetwest.

The company provides support when it comes to inspecting energy and infrastructure assets and includes thermal imaging and aerial mapping. The power, agriculture, emergency response and wildlife and fishery management industries have relied on the company’s services.

Soaring Eagle Technologies President Will Paden, who joined the company from Soaring Eagle Imaging, said the move would allow the company to better serve its clients.

"The merger with Skynetwest further increases our capability to service utilities, surveyors and engineering firms, as well as other large clients," Paden said. "The combined company provides our clients with emerging-tech capabilities, including lidar [which uses laser light to detect objects] and [beyond visual line of sight] solutions."

Iapetus Holdings LLC is based in Houston and desires that the merged company will offer "reliable utility, energy and infrastructure inspections for hard-to-reach and complex structures with emerging technology solutions.”
