Marlene Bacon

Marlene Mull Bacon, 84, of Beaumont died Friday, September 17, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Cleveland, Texas, she was born on December 16, 1936, living in Beaumont, Texas for most of her life and later residing in Spring.
In 1958, she received her BA in Business from Sam Houston State University. After working for Humble Oil Company, she married Graham R. Bacon in 1962. They lived in Argentina for four years in 1962-1966 with Graham working as an expatriate. Returning to Beaumont in 1966, they lived there for 52 years, raising their two sons, being active members of Trinity United Methodist Church, and enjoying their time with friends and family, especially at their beach house in Crystal Beach. Marlene also served as an educator, teaching English as a second language to adult students.
Marlene’s husband, Graham R. Bacon, predeceased her in 2003. She is survived by her sons, Graham W. Bacon and his wife, Peggy Bacon of Spring, Texas, and Robert D. Bacon and his wife, Amy Bacon, of Seabrook, Texas. She was the proud grandmother to granddaughters, Elizabeth Ricks and her husband, Matt Ricks of Gruene, Texas; Rebecca Bacon and Catherine Bacon of Spring, Texas, and Ellie Bacon of Washington DC, and great-granddaughter Genevieve Bacon. She is survived by her sister, Dolly Annette Herndon of Humble.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 beginning at 10 a.m. at Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive in The Woodlands, Texas, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial service will follow in Claybar Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas at 2 p.m.
