Susan Thomas Blanchard passed away on Sept. 11, 2021, from complications of ALS. A native Houstonian, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Walter L. Blanchard, sisters Jean White and Patricia Richardson, son, Michael P. Blanchard and wife Cora, son-in-law Victor Benitez, granddaughters Sofia Benitez and Elena Benitez, Amber Graves, Sara Roberts Visos, grandson Ricky Roberts and wife Andrea. She is predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Blanchard Benitez. 

Susan was a teacher for twenty years and retired in 2015. She loved the mountains of Colorado. Her faith in God was important to her and she died peacefully without any regrets.
