Marcos Alexandros Kasvicis

Marcos Alexandros Kasvicis, 76, of Deer Park, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

Marcos was born on March 28, 1945 to Alexandros and Aikaterini Kasvicis in Athens, Greece. Marcos grew up working with his father’s construction company and building homes. After serving in the Greek military, Marcos decided to travel across the world. He saw many places including India, China, Panama, and Egypt before setting out for the land of opportunity in America. He arrived at the port of Houston with one suitcase and $7. From there- his legacy began. He married his beautiful wife, Diane, on March 3, 1975. They shared a life filled with joy, love, and laughter. Marcos was a loud, passionate Greek man and loved by all who encountered him. He was a world historian and avid storyteller. In his earlier days, Marcos enjoyed dancing traditional Greek dances such as hasapiko and zeibekiko. Recently, he was a fan of online poker, watching Wheel of Fortune, Western movies, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Marcos is survived by his loving wife, Mary Diane Kasvicis (Warner), daughter Katina Kasvicis, daughter Alex Pheneger Strömberg and her husband Johan Strömberg, daughter Konstadina Kasvicis Molina and her husband Ernest Molina, daughter Alexandra Kasvicis Tijerina and her husband Jim Tijerina, daughter Antonia Kasvicis Pineda and her husband Daniel Pineda, daughter Maria Kasvicis, nephew Michael Provolisianos, nephew Alexandros Provolisianos and his wife Marilen Alvero Provolisianos. He is also survived by his grandchildren Marissa Kasvicis, Nicholas Mendieta, Elyssa Molina, Marcos Pineda, Alexis Mendieta, Natalie Molina, Daniel Pineda, Gage Yannotti, Alexandros Molina, Kaysen Smith, Benjamin Pineda, James Strömberg, Angela Wagner, Athena Wagner, Diane Tijerina, several step-grandchildren, and great-nephews Sandro Alvero and Panagiotis Provolisianos.

Marcos is preceded in death by his daughter Angela Kasvicis, siblings Xristos Kasvicis and Vasso Kasvicis, and parents Alexandros and Aikaterini Kasvicis.

The Kasvicis Family would like to extend their love and thanks to all who have wished condolences and guided them through this season of loss.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons Marcos Pineda, Daniel Pineda, Gage Yannotti, Alexandros Molina, Kaysen Smith, Benjamin Pineda, and Nicholas Mendieta. Honorary pallbearers will be great nephew Panagiotis Provolisianos and grandson James Strömberg.
