REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 8, 1900
The events of this day 121 years ago reshaped the island, literally and figuratively. Today, the impact of the 1900 Storm is one that both residents and guests alike experience daily through our shared history, architecture, and stories. In remembrance of the events of this day, we've pulled a handful of images from our collection. Although the photos are scenes of destruction, many pictures show locations that were rebuilt and thrived in the years since. See more of our collection at facebook.com/galvestonhistory or instagram.com/galvestonhistory.
