While passenger volumes remain below pre-pandemic levels, demand picked up in May, June and July ’21. Business travel finally began to recover in July, but that may be short-lived. The surge of positive cases for the Delta and other COVID-19 variants has forced many firms to again restrict business-related travel. Many airlines are reporting fewer bookings and higher cancellations.
HAS handled 33.3 million passengers in the 12 months ending July ’21, a 15.7 percent decrease from the 39.5 million handled over the same period in ’20.
- The 12-month international passenger volume totaled 5.1 million, down 32.6 percent from 7.5 million in the preceding 12 months.
- Domestic volume totaled 28.3 million, an 11.7 percent decrease from 32.0 million.
