Phyllis Smith Jackson

1943-2021

On August 6, 2021, our devoted mother, grandmother, sister. & friend, Phyllis Smith Jackson, passed from this life to rest in the arms of Jesus.

She was born on September 13, 1943 in Houston, TX to James & Georgette Smith, & was the oldest of seven siblings. Phyllis attended Houston's Marian High School & graduated from SMU in 1965 with a BA in English & French & was in the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

Phyllis had a memorable laugh, hilarious stories, & an endless supply of sweets. She loved to travel, play bridge, read, socialize, and was always present for her children and grandchildren's activities.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, & her loving companion of 20 years, Richard Bain. She is survived by her sons; Jack (Leslie) of Houston, & Jimmy (Rachel) of Austin; her siblings; Craig (Stephanie) of California, Judi (Rick) of Dallas, Curtis (Peggy) of Wimberly, Melody (Mike) of Houston, Cherise (David) of Austin, & Chris of New Braunfels; her grandchildren: Katherine, Thomas, & Jackson; Rich's daughter Danielle & granddaughter Jadyn, & numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
