Data, Insight & Analysis
Houston-area realtors sold 10,159 single-family homes in July ’21, down 6.1 percent from the same month last year, according to the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR). While the decline marks the first year-over-year drop since May ’20, it may signal noise in the data rather than a shift in the market. The July ’20 total was inflated by closings that were initiated in the spring but delayed by the pandemic lockdowns. For the 12 months ending in July ’21, realtors sold 106,047 single-family homes, up 20.3 percent from the same period in ’20.
