Charles L. Piskac
1944-2021
Charlie Piskac, 77, passed away on Thursday, the 22nd of July, in Houston, Texas. Charlie will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a loving father, a loving grandfather and a stellar friend.
Charlie was the only child born to Betty and Charlie Piskac on June 19, 1944 in Miami, Oklahoma. He spent his younger years in Reno, Nevada where his father had a casino after WWII. From there, they settled in Bakersfield, California where he attended Horace Mann Elementary and learned to play golf. Charlie's family moved to Houston when his father was transferred by his company, Oil Base, Inc. Charlie spent his youth golfing, fishing offshore on the family boat, which was docked at Bridge Harbor Marina in Freeport, and catching baby alligators in the bayou behind his house. He and his parents lived at the Shamrock Hotel while their house was being built. His family joined Riverbend Country Club and Charlie continued to play golf there for the rest of his life. He loved his Riverbend family and all of his many friends. Charlie attended Bellaire High School, but decided to transfer to Westbury High School for his senior year to be a part of its first graduating class.
Charlie and Beverly were married in 1968 and were in love with each other for over 53 years. They gave each other two completely loved daughters, Ann-Dee Bailey of Austin, Texas who is married to Brad Bailey and Amanda Collier of Dallas, Texas who is married to David Collier. In turn, their daughters gave their parents six completely loved grandchildren—Ava and Grace Bailey, Charlie, Lily, Amelia and Penelope Collier. Charlie left his children and grandchildren enough love and wonderful memories of him to last their lifetimes and beyond.
There was nobody like Charlie for his wit and intelligence. He was, and always will be, much loved and admired. He will be remembered, missed and cherished by his grieving family and those who knew and loved him. Charlie requested to be cremated and that no service be held. We will honor those wishes.
