Sabrina Lee Helfenbien-Pope

APRIL 19, 1960 – JULY 23, 2021

Sabrina Helfenbein-Pope went home to Jesus on July 23, 2021 at age 61. Sabrina was born in Pampa, TX to Billie Ray Spelce and Wanda Lee Barbee on April 19, 1960. She grew up in Borger, TX, a neighboring town on the plains of the Texas panhandle.

While in high school, Sabrina served as a pianist and organist at the First Baptist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Borger. After graduating from West Texas A&M University with a degree in Accounting, Sabrina spent her professional career as an auditor, controller and chief financial officer, working for the Hunt Oil company in Dallas, Houston Baptist University, and Delta Insurance Group.

Sabrina was a dedicated and loving mother to her two children, Ryan and Hayley, and she enjoyed spoiling her three grandchildren at every opportunity. Sabrina was an active member of Sugarland Baptist Church and had an unwavering faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ which gave her strength and peace even in the darkest days. While her family and friends grieve this sudden loss, Sabrina is now joyfully in the presence of the Lord.

Sabrina is preceded in death by her parents Wanda Lee Barbee and Billie Ray Spelce. She is survived by her son Ryan Helfenbein (Lauren Helfenbein) and her grandchildren, Victoria Helfenbein, Jackson Helfenbein, and Helen Claire Helfenbein of Lynchburg, Virginia, and her daughter Hayley Fangmeier (Clark Fangmeier) of Houston, Texas.
