Tebis Llobet

October 14, 1957 – July 14, 2021

Tebis Llobet passed away peacefully in his home on July 14th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He fought a brave 7-year battle with cancer. Tebis was born in São Paulo, Brazil on October 14th, 1957 to Marcela and Joan Llobet. He had an incredibly curious mind and a life-long passion for learning. After graduating as a Naval Engineer from the University of São Paulo, Tebis entered the Oil & Gas Industry. He was passionate about engineering and had a wonderful 39 year career with assignments across the globe, including Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico, Russia and the USA.

He continued working throughout his fight with cancer until just weeks before his passing. Tebis had many hobbies and interests including home brewing, cheese-making, distilling, bread-making, tinkering with engines and solving mechanical challenges. Yet he also had a deep love of music (especially British prog rock such as King Crimson) and films, most notably Sci-Fi flicks such as Blade Runner. Furthermore he was an avid soccer/futebol fan and was especially supportive of FC Barcelona. He spent countless hours coaching his sons to play competitive soccer and watching international competitions with them. Indeed spending time with his family and friends was his greatest pleasure. He especially enjoyed entertaining and cooking, and he had a natural ability to make people laugh, engage, relax and feel welcome. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Monica, as well as sons Eric & Alan, his mother Marcela, his brothers Robbis & Erbis, and his nieces Gisela & Daniela.

There will be a Memorial Service for Tebis on July 24, 2021, at 4:00 pm. It will be held at Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek located at 15015 SW Freeway, Sugar Land TX. The family request friends and family that attend to dress comfortably. Tebis had a tremendous love for children and their presence always brought him much joy. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - http://giftfunds.stjude.org/TebisLlobetFund
