First Lady Jill Biden and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff recently visited Minute Maid Park to encourage people to get vaccinated.

It's part of the Vaccinate at the Plate initiative, the Houston Astros posted on Twitter

"Welcome to Harris County @FLOTUS and @SecondGentleman," said Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo on Twitter

Using Major League Baseball parks as a venue to get more people vaccinated was part of a White House plan, as detailed on its website.

The White House plan, as set forth on its website, includes Major League Baseball teams offering on-site vaccinations at games and giving free tickets to those who get vaccinated.

The Houston Astros Foundation and Major League Baseball partnered with Houston Methodist to bring the local Vaccinate at the Plate program to Minute Maid Park, as stated on the MLB website

There were two dates including June 15 and June 29, as stated on the website

The program offered the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in the Union Station Lobby and those who got the vaccine at the event received two tickets to a select Astros game, as detailed on the website.

"Baseball. Beers. Vaccines. Cheers to that, right @SecondGentleman?" Biden posted on Twitter following the visit.

Before going to the Houston Astros Stadium, the First Lady Biden visited Conrad High School in Dallas to encourage people to get the COVID-19 shot.

".@flotus Jill Biden is here to tour the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Conrad High School! We are working with @parkland to get as many students 12+ vaccinated as possible," Dallas ISD posted on Twitter

Three-time Super Bowl champion with the Cowboys Emmitt Smith, joined the First Lady at Conrad High School, as noted by his Twitter account.

"Enjoyed my time with First Lady Jill Biden today!" Smith posted on Twitter
