Leslie Diane Rogers

1959-2021

Leslie Diane Rogers (62) went to Heaven on June 27, 2021 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 3, 1959 in Gainesville, Texas, the daughter of Sue Nichols Richardson and Wiley Yandell (Tog) Rogers, Jr., attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a degree in computer science. Leslie was the proud mother of three amazing daughters Jenna Stanke Bissell, Megan Stanke and Madison Stanke.

Leslie dedicated her life to her family and work. A loving and committed mother, she was always happiest when spending time with her daughters and precious grandson, Harry Bissell. She also loved time with her family and lifelong friends. Leslie's many passions included traveling, skiing, golfing, deep sea fishing, and dining with those she loved. Leslie was also committed to supporting worthy causes. She tirelessly gave of her time and talents, holding numerous leadership positions with VICTORY (the fundraising arm of the American Cancer Society), National Charity League, and HITS Theater. Her leadership with these organizations was truly transformative. Leslie made a difference to so many people. She always went above and beyond, often behind the scenes, never wanting or needing the recognition that she deserved.

Leslie is preceded in death by her mother Sue Richardson, stepmothers Suzie Rogers and Carolynne Fielding, and sister Christine Rogers. She is survived by her father Tog Rogers; children Jenna and Jeff Bissell, Megan Stanke and Madison Stanke; siblings Yandell and Dee Rogers (Kemah), Laura and Jerry Braun (Dallas), Matthew and Cambrey Rogers (Houston) and Nicki Osina (Basalt). Known as Gigi, she will be greatly missed by her beloved grandson Harry Bissell and her extended family Dean Stanke, Wendy and Ned Paynter and nieces and nephews: Hannah Braun, Caroline Braun, Lindsay Braun, Wiley Rogers, Zane Rogers, Brooke Scott, Ian Farley and Lauren Rogers. She also leaves behind her beloved golden retriever, Scout. Leslie was a loving grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend and will be missed and remembered by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay Street, Houston, Texas 77024. A reception will follow the services at Lakewood Yacht Club, 2322 Lakewood Yacht Club Dr., Seabrook, Texas 77586.
