Jimmy OSBORNE
June 8, 1945 – May 24, 2021
Jimmy Lee Osborne, age 75, of Baytown TX, formerly of Charleston and Boone County, WV, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 in Houston Methodist Hospital after experiencing a stroke.
Jim is survived by his wife Emma Osborne of Baytown TX, his daughter Angela (Brian) of Centreville, VA, son Jeremy (Kate) of Boca Raton, FL, grandchildren Sam, Ayden and Kinnley, brother Jerry (Iona) of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, especially Wallace (“Wally”) Brister of Baytown TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Judson Osborne and his mother, Betty Jean Workman. Jim was a proud veteran, having served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force.
After leaving the military, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology. Jim worked for many years as an engineer for FMC and Monsanto, and more recently had been working as an Instrument Fitter in the Baytown area. He enjoyed sailing, fishing and was very handy, never being without a project either at home or working on cars. He will be dearly missed by all.
A celebration of Jim’s life has been planned for Thursday, May 27th at 5:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown TX. An additional service in West Virginia will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jim’s name to Northside Baptist Church, Baytown TX.
