Daniel Muniz Uribe
January 9, 1945 – May 23, 2021
Daniel Muniz Uribe was born on January 9, 1945 in Guadalajara, Jalisco and passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas on Sunday, May 23, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria Lucia (Rios) Uribe, his children Lucia Cantu (Alex), Marcela Uribe (Jeff), Daniel Uribe Jr. (Paula), Adriana Villa (Enrique), Christina Williams (Parker) and grandchildren (Marissa Cantu, Adrian Cantu, Karisma Uribe, Jaden Uribe and Emma Villa), sisters Maria Concepcion Vera (Pablo), Esther De Luna (Antonio), brother Juan Uribe (Paula) and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Alma Rosa Uribe, father Pedro Uribe Delgadillo, mother Maria Luz Uribe and brother Pedro Uribe Jr. Daniel was a great role model to many, especially his children, because of the many wonderful qualities he possessed - great work ethic, strength, loyalty, and generosity to others (including strangers) while remaining humble and never expecting anything in return.
They will always remember his love for family, soccer, woodworking, music and dancing. He will be greatly missed, but his family finds comfort knowing that he is at peace. The family would like to thank his caregiver Dora, the staff at Essential Hospice & Palliative Services, the Houston Area Parkinson Society (HAPS), the Alzheimer’s Association (Houston Chapter) and all of the countless family and friends who supported him and his family throughout his journey the last few years.
A heartfelt thank you to his brother Juan Uribe, the Estrada Family from San Antonio, the Millan Family from Chicago and most importantly, to his wife, who kept her marriage vows until the very end. Arriba las Chivas y Arriba los Salseros! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Houston Area Parkinson Society (HAPS) or the Alzheimer Association (Houston Chapter).
