John Tullis Ledbetter "Tullis" Jones IV, 31, of Austin, Texas and Lexington, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, in Austin.
Tullis was born October, 30, 1989, in Houston, Texas to John Tullis Ledbetter Jones III and Mia Edgar Jones.
Tullis attended St. Johns School and Episcopal High School in Houston, Tx and graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha(KA) fraternity. Tullis was a beautifully gifted athlete in his school years and spent many joyful moments as an adult golfing and bird hunting with family and friends.
Post university, Tullis sold property/casualty insurance in Austin and Houston.
Tullis was confirmed at St. Lukes Methodist Church in Houston and had an active relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ at the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother Jones, John T.L. Jones Jr. and Janice Marie Jones, of Lexington, Ky. , and his grandfather and grandmother Edgar, Charles Richard Edgar and Mary Ann Edgar, of Houston, Tx.
Survivors include his parents;his brother John Michiel Christian Jones; his uncles(aunts), John Michiel Edgar(Pauline) of Houston, Hutton Jones(Paula) of Abilene, Tx., Levi(Paula) Jones of Shawnee, Ok. and Guy(Julie) Mogge of Versailles, Ky; cousins Hutton Jones, Payton Jones, Haley Winn, Helen Heffner, Bryce Jones, Ellis Jones, and Guy David Mogge.
A Memorial Service for Tullis will be held Thursday, May 27th, at 3 p.m., at St Pauls United Methodist Church, Main Street, Houston, Tx with a celebration wake following from 4.30 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. at Armando's on Westheimer Road. A Kentucky Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday June 2nd at 4 p.m. at Walnut Hill Church, Walnut Hill Road, Lexington, Ky with celebration wake to follow at the church.
