Rebecca Sundri Jhingree
December 13, 1931 – May 14, 2021
Rebecca was born to the loving union of James and Agnes Lowton on December 13, 1931 in Guyana, South America. God called his daughter, Rebecca to his Heavenly Kingdom on May 14, 2021. Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband Percy Jhingree.
Rebecca was a loving, kindhearted, generous, talented Christian woman who always had an encouraging word for her family and friends. She was a homemaker, seamstress and an astute business woman with an incredible knack for managing the family finances. She enjoyed traveling and experienced various cultures through seeing much of the world. She loved living in the warm climate and thus, when she left Guyana, her next love was St. Croix, USVI. She loved a warm fire in equal measures.
Rebecca was selfless in her endeavor to providing a better life for her family. She was an advocate for education especially for her children and grand children. She carried a strong work ethic in which her husband, Percy's early and later successes are testaments to this fact.
Rebecca was well loved and is survived by her daughters and son-in laws Anita & Mark Renza, Ruth & Deochand Singh and Hermena & Brett Soucek; son and daughter-in-law Jacob & Rocio Jhingree; daughter and son Esther Simmons and Isaac Jhingree.
Rebecca who loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren is survived by grandchildren Kennard & wife Jeanette Boodhai and Denise Flores; Debbie & husband Solo Kankiah, James & Shawn Singh, Alicia & husband Matthew Flores, Lee & wife Ruth Jetty, and Dustin Jetty & Elissa Guiterrez, Camille, Jeffrey & Michael Jhingree, and Renato & Rachel Jhingree; great grandchildren Jeremy, Joshua & Jonathan Flores, Felicia Kankiah, Nancy and Alan. Great great grandchildren Adam Kankiah and Sebastian Jetty.
Rebecca is also survived by sisters Naomi Lowton & Elizabeth Tulloch; brothers Emmanuel, Reginald, Stephen and Ronald Lowton; sister and brother-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
