Howard Ormond Roden, age 67, passed away in Houston, Texas, on May 5, 2021. He was born on November 21, 1953, in Sheffield, Alabama to James Ernest and Ruby Faye Roden.
Howard was a reporter for the Port Arthur News for 13 years. He also was a senior reporter for the Conroe Courier for 8 years before retiring. Howard enjoyed golf and was an assistant golf pro for Texas National. Howard was preceded in death by his father, James Ernest Roden. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Dixie Howsley Roden, sons, Jace Russell Roden and wife Jenna and Douglas Holdorff, daughter, Jean Renee Wood, mother, Faye Roden, sisters, Melanie Lynett and Tahmmy Eddings, brothers, Don Roden and Russ Roden. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and extended family.
